Demler Supports Cliffe In Wheatfield

As if the primary contest in Wheatfield wasn't contentious enough, you now have the wife of the incumbent coming out publicly for her husband's opponent, Bob Cliffe. I swear, you can't make this stuff up - Tammy Demler doesn't support her own husband! I would think that she knows him better than anyone else, and she is quite well known and popular in the community, so her endorsement of Cliffe will carry alot of weight in Wheatfield.

Making matters worse for Demler are accusations by town councilmen that Demler overstepped his authority as supervisor by paying bills and taking action without going through the proper channels. As we stated before, we have receive document after document showing Demler usurped the authority of the board and unilaterally authorized the payment of bills that the council had denied.
Demler's response, in today's Niagara Gazette, is problematic for him. “Every one of these so-called issues were decisions made by me, properly, to address a concern for residents at a particular time,” Demler said. Here's your problem, Tim: You do not have the authority to make those decisions on your own. That is why the people elected a town board, so there isn't this dictatorial type of decision-making going on.
The allegations against Demler are so serious that committee members have turned the information over to the Niagara County District Attorney, the FBI and the offices of the New York state controller and attorney general.
Take a moment to click the above link to read of the allegations against Demler.

Those Bob Cliff sign's are everywhere - that must mean his Wheatfield's guy.

Does anyone know if the CON, WF and IND lines are open? If so, ir may take more than a Primary to decide this puppy.

At the risk of being perceived as shallow, I must ask, after viewing that picture (and a few episodes of WNY Tonight), what was Tim Demler thinking??? He had the kind of wife many men would be thrilled to go home to...

I know Demler's serial philandering is less important than whether he usurped the authority of the town board and ran a pay-to-play scheme with contractors. But I keep coming back to the fact he had a strikingly attractive wife, and it still wasn't enough for him. The man is positively Clintonian in his appetites and his actions.

Funny stuff. Pay back. Remember, TED called the cops reporting a theft in the middle of the first couple's contentious divorce. Wonder if TED ever got his wedding ring back?

Advice to TammyLee, get that divorce agreement in the bag before next week. If ol' Tim is out of a job, you just may be looking at some hefty maintenance payments.

This day time drama is fun to watch from the other side. No doubt that Demler has been circumventing the rules all these years. But there is truth to his defense that these things happened throughout his tenure, through several elections and no one, least of all Helwig, raised any objection. NOW, when they're no longer allies, this stuff is revealed.

Anyone who knows Helwig knows that he is a nerd who studies everything with a fine point through those poindexter glasses of his. So he has a problem too. If these things have been going on for so long how come it took him so long to figure it out? And if he did know, why on earth would he turn a blind eye?

You could ask that of the rest of the TB too. Retzlaff's Sgt Schultz routine might be attributed to the fact that Demler made him the Deputy Supervisor, gave him a previously non-existant stipend for the do-nothing title and protected his health insurance. Not to mention the large payment Ken received in connection with the installation of sewers on Ken's property.

It will be interesting to see if the Democrats can expose some of these corruptions and win a seat on the politically incestuous TB which is now engaged in fratricide. If so, Cliffe is no shoe-in as he himself has been involved in Demler's political firing of a former court clerk. One which costs the Town several thousands of dollars in a "secret" agreement.

PSST, Larry, why don't you expose the agreement with Sally A. which probably was paid without a proper TB resolution? Oh yeah, Bob C. took cover behind that curtain!

BTW, isn't it ironic that Tammy Lee is licensed to dispense drugs given the history of Demler's 1st wife?

I don't live in Wheatfield, never met Mr. Demler. But I do know Tammie and she is one intelligent person. People would do well to follow her lead on this.

Mr. Demler has been supervisor for many years and one has to wonder if life is better or worse than it was before he came to office. Seems much worse to me, with the bankruptcy of the Summit Park Mall only the most recent example of a failed economy.

Someone once defined insanity as doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Bob Cliffe might be worse, but he might be better. He will, at least be different and I don't see how that can be a bad thing.

I don't think that the majority of citizens in Wheatfield are insane, so hopefully the people will come out and change, which gives them the right to expect a better life.

Barney,....Cliff has the CON,and IND lines and Conti has the WF line.

Is that Cliff or the milk man making a delivery. Great pic hobbes. I still say that Conti will win this mudslinging race.
