Maziarz Lights Up Power Authority

The following is testimony given by State Senator George Maziarz to Trustees of the New York Power Authority in Albany on March 19. At least we know there's one state elected official in Niagara County standing up for the people of this community. We certainly won't expect that from sellout Assemblywoman Francine DelMonte or State Senator Antoine Thompson, who cast the deciding vote to allow the $750 million sweep of NYPA profits generated primarily in Niagara County.

That's the way an elected official stands up for their constitutents and takes it to the nameless, faceless, shameless hacks and bureaucrats who pick our pockets.

When the Attorney General finishes with AIG bonsues he should turn his guns on these outrageous NYPA bonsuses.

It’s truly amazing that Francine Delmonte voted for the sweep of nearly $500 million dollars out of NYPA that could have been utilized for local projects.

Where is the Gazette or Buffalo News on this – why does she get a “pass” for working against our community in favor of down state interests.

Case in point, she get the front page of the Gazette to wine about the county fair share of casio monies but noone is reporting on her “breaking Niagara County” in Albany.

The Niagara Gazette missed the gate again.

Turns out NYPA has something called variable pay that is bascially a bonus program for all of their employees. According the news that was $3.4 million last year. Oh how the fat cats continue to spend our money.

Senator Maziarz has to be commended for this. Democrats should be ashamed for watching this unfold and remaining silent!!

The coming days will tell whether Democrats should be panned. The fact that Maziarz led the way on this is one thing. But will the others join him in his outrage now that he has exposed all of this.
