Candidate Arrested

Niagara Times has learned from a highly placed source that a challenger for a Niagara County Legislature seat was arrested by State Police for DWI Saturday evening. While Niagara Times does have the name of the individual, we are awaiting confirmation prior to publishing the name.

This should make what already has been a contentious election season even more interesting. More details will follow as they become available.

Wow, do these people think? Running for office, being drunk then driving, just asking to lose an election. Who is this guy? When will you find this one out? Is it in the news yet?

Wow....big news...I hope the papers cover it and admonish whoever it is and whatever party that person is from.

Public officials should be held to a higher standard. Hopefully the residents in this person's district realize this when they vote

While I think we would all admit that we make mistakes, something as stupid as a DWI should really make people wonder about this person's judgement.

I should also say that I'm saddened about the posts that were taken down ... just my 2 cents.

Hi Scott,

Posts that are removed by the author are not removed by me, so when it says "comment deleted", it was the original author.

Is that what you are referring to when you say you're saddened by the posts that were taken down?

No. I'm talking about the post that pointed out the name of the legislative candidate ... which is also the name of the permalink. I don't recall who posted it, but I don't think it was a blogger member ...

This seems to be the source of credible breaking Niagara County political news now. Again Jill Terreri is way behind the times again. What is wrong with her?

I can't way to hear who it is! This person, if elected, would be voting on things like items for the District Attorney's office and the DWI Coordinator through the Sheriff's Department. What kind of judgment would this person exercise then? Let's not give the person the opportunity since the last individual I want in public office is someone who puts other lives in danger due to pure stupidity!

Wow. Lotta people really hate Jill Terreri. For one thing, you may notice that the name isn't here ... yet. For a second thing, a daily paper such as the Gazette has silly requirements for printing information. They have always required two sources ... although I've always thought it silly. They should just be able to print what they know to be true. It's one of the reasons people read blogs ... the scrutiny is less significant and info can come out quicker.

Good job again Sail Away. I see the Buffalo News has the full story today. I think Bob LaBarbera just go Danny Sklarksi elected again.

Drunk driving is a terrible thing...and candidates should be held to a higher standard.
